It started with the experimental mind of Sam Calagione. While drinking his own 60-minute IPA with friends, he decided to pour a little of red wine into a beer pint. That blend became a beloved tradition among his closest friends.

The name is a reminder that this beer is Dogfish Head’s best-selling 60 Minute IPA plus one new ingredient: syrah grape must from California.

A beer with the hop characteristics of a strong IPA, with the complexity of a red wine.
