Spent grain bread with Spicy Sausage
BE Spent Grain bread

INGREDIENTS

1kg Flour
500g spent grains
400g chopped spicy Italian sausage
40g butter
30g sugar
300ml warm milk
30g of bread yeast
2 eggs
1 tablespoon salt
1 onion, chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil
Oregano

 

DIRECTIONS

1) Place the spicy Italia sausage in a pan to fry. No need to leave it for too long. Reserve it and let it cool.

2.) Dissolve the yeast bread in warm milk and let it rest for 15 minutes.

3.) In a bowl, place 500g of flour, the milk mixture with yeast and mix well.

4.) Add salt, sugar and the butter into the mixture.

5.) Add the malt, eggs, spicy Italian sausage, oregano, onions, olive oil and 300g of flour.

6.) Slowly add the remaining flour and keep mixing until it pulls away from your hands.

7.) On a smooth surface, knead the dough well for at least 10 minutes, until the flour join perfectly into the mass.

8.) Let the dough rest and rise for 2 hours.

9.) Knead the dough again and divide it into two equal parts and put them in rectangular greased bread pans and let rise for 1 hour.

10.) On a pre-heated oven at medium temperature, bake for 30 minutes.

11.) Lower the temperature of the oven and let it in for another 30 minutes.

 Important: Do not open the oven, so your bread can rise!
