BE Rabbit with mustard and witbier

Rabbit is not a very common choice, right?
But its a very tasty meat that, at least for me, it sends me back to childhood .... My father used to raise rabbits, therefore we ate quite often this delicious meat!
Here is a simple recipe, easy to make, which can change your opinion about rabbit!


1 whole rabbit
2 tablespoons mustard powder
4 garlic cloves
2 large onions
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 330ml Witbier bottle
1/2 bunch basil
500ml water
Black pepper



1. Clean the rabbit and cut into pieces;
2. Chop the onion and garlic;
3. Season the rabbit with garlic, salt and pepper;
4. In a saucepan place the olive oil and let it heat up. Then immediately place the rabbit and let it brown slightly;
5. Then put the onion and fry for another 5 minutes;
6. Mix the mustard powder with water and place in pan;
7. When half the water evaporates, pour the beer and cook until the liquid almost dries;
8. At serving time, add the basil on top.
