Last month, Brewers Association, a non-profit organization representing small and independent craft brewers, released the complete top 50 craft breweries, with all details, including sales figures in 2014.

The 50 breweries on the list are responsible for 68% of the national craft beer production – more than 15 million barrels (around 1,78 billion liters). And the first three produces almost 30% of all American craft beer.

The first company on the list is D.G. Yuengling and Son Inc, with almost 3 million barrels in sales (around 350 million liters).

Yuengling has its headquarters in Pottsville, Pennsylvania and is considered to be the oldest operating brewing company in the United States, established in 1829.

In second comes Boston Beer Co, the brewers of Samuel Adams, with just a bit over 2,5 million barrels in sales (more than 300 million liters).

The top three is completed by Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., with a significant difference in numbers: the brewery sold “just” a little over 1 million barrels (more than 125 million liters).

Three breweries had some amazing growth in 2014: Founders and Ballast Point with 74% and Lagunitas, with 50%.

Some other international brands are still in the list: Stone is number nine, with 287,000 barrels (34 million liters); Brooklyn brewery is on the 11th spot, followed by Duvel Moortgat USA and Dogfish Head.

Lower in the ranks you can also find breweries such as Rogue, Flying Dog, Shipyard, Oskar Blues and Anchor.

Here is the full list.
