Beer Portraits
BE Beer Portrait 09

Many attribute much of the artists’ inspiration through the course of history to alcoholic beverages such as wine and especially beer!

But have you ever heard of an artist who uses this sacred liquid, which we call beer, to make his art?

Kyle Bice, an American artist from Chicago, does just that: he uses only paper, a brush and beer to make amazing portraits!

Inspired by his work on the New Holland Brewery labels, Kyle started playing with the idea in a bar, while participating in an event in which he painted for customers of the establishment. At one point, some beer fell into a paper sheet and he had and idea of trying to work with it to see how well he could use beer.

The work is very beautiful and you can get to know more of his work on his website Beer Portraits, which blends his beer art with interviews related to craft beer culture.

Check out a few of his drawings.
