BE Onion Jam with Kriek Beer

This recipe can find a place in many different dishes that you cook in your house.

For example, this jam goes very well in your sandwiches, especially hamburgers.

You can also use as a side sauce for a steak or a cheese platter!

So you can use your imagination and enjoy it with whatever you like!


1/2 kg of onions

1 tablespoon of olive oil

1 tablespoon of sugar

6 peppercorns

1 bay leaf

3 springs of thyme

4 cloves

1 bottle of Kriek (370ml)


1. Peel the onions and slice them.

2. Fry in olive oil.

3. Pour the Kriek beer into the mix; add sugar, peppercorns, bay leaf, thyme and cloves.

4. Bring it to a boil over high heat.

5. Reduce the heat immediately and let it simmer gently for 35 minutes.

6. Spoon the onion jam into glass jars that you have rinsed with boiling water.

7. Store the onion jam in a cool, dark place.
